The island's capital provides services that meet every need of the traveler. The country is built amphitheatrically on the floor above the port. There are monuments in Chora indicative of the history of the past, such as the remains of the old wall that once surrounded the ancient city and the ruins of the old castle near the church of Panagia Gremiotissa. The Archaeological Museum of Ios is located in the City Hall building. The open-air theater "Odysseas Elytis" hosts during the summer months, musical and theatrical events with amazing views of Santorini and the Aegean.

ΓΙΑΛΟΣ
The port of Ios (Gialos) is the second most populated area of the island. The port and the adjacent sandy beach with clear blue waters are well organized for tourism with shops of all kinds. There are also water sports facilities. Near the entrance of the port stands the picturesque church of Agia Irini (17th century).
KOUMPARA
A large sandy beach (300m) located SW of the port. On the south side of the bay you will find many small picturesque coves between the rocks. The best man is an exciting place for diving. Picturesque taverns complete the landscape.
MYLOPOTAS
A famous and busy sandy beach located 2km south of Chora with a large area (1km), with crystal clear shallow waters. There are shops of all kinds, as well as an organization for water sports.

MANGANARI
It is located on the south coast of the island 28km from the port. On the four fantastic sandy beaches, next to each other with crystal clear waters, you will enjoy swimming and various water sports. There are also some beach taverns.
TOMB OF HOMER - SAINT THEODOT
Following the main road that crosses the interior of the island (north direction) you reach Pano Kampos. From there an asphalt road on your left, leads to the ancient ruins, where tradition wants the tomb of the poet Homer to be located. The main road leads to Agia Theodoti. Clear waters, sand and some traditional taverns are waiting for you.
PALEOKASTRO - PSATHI
On the road to Agia Theodoti a crossroads to the right leads to the picturesque beach of Psathi, in the greenest part of the island, 20km from the port. A large sandy beach with deep blue waters and some taverns. Just before we reach Psathi, we meet the stone path that leads to Paleokastro, a Byzantine castle built 300m above the sea. Going to Psathi visit the cheese factory to see the production process and take with you some of the most delicious cheeses.
